A dial per spot with the wind right now, plus the coming hours and days. Podersdorf is measured; everywhere else is forecast.
Measured or forecast
Only Podersdorf has a station of its own. At every other spot, what stands as "now" is the forecast for this moment — not the same thing, and the page says so wherever a measurement would otherwise be.
The dial shows the speed in the middle, today’s strongest gust, and an arrow for where the wind comes from. The three pale rings are +2, +3 and +6 hours; point at one and its figures move to the middle.
What "good wind" means
Good wind is a mean of 15 knots. Gusts do not count towards it — a single peak does not make a day.
You pick the unit yourself: knots, km/h, m/s or Beaufort. Likewise the times — your own zone or the spot’s. For a spot in another time zone that is the difference between "6pm where I am" and "6pm there".
Wind by email
Signed in, you can set up to three spots as an alert, daily or weekly. The mail arrives at 6 in the morning, Vienna time, and carries the same bars as the page.
Each alert can be cancelled on its own — through the link in the mail or in the card on the page.
